Siemens Financial Services Driving Climate Resiliency Challenge
Siemens Financial Services (SFS) is requesting proposals to develop a software tool that can identify location-specific climate adaptation strategies leveraging open-source data. This challenge is open to all, specifically targeting students, researchers, entrepreneurs and start-ups. The deadline for initial proposals is December 5.
Here is a brief summary of the process:
- Phase 1: Ideation (Due December 5)—Submit a brief summary/outline of the proposed solution
- Phase 2: Validation (December 6–January 8)—SFS will select proposals (up to five) to continue through the process
- Phase 3: Co-Creation (January 9–March 10)—Selected proposals will have the opportunity to further develop their idea in a co-creation process with Siemens experts, in order to make it even better suitable for Siemens’ and its customers’ needs
- Phase 4: Hackathon & Live Pitches (March 11–14)—Selected finalists will have the opportunity to create a proof of concept and proof of feasibility for their ideas in a hackathon
Chosen submissions will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts at Siemens and win prize money (up to 10,000 EUR), which may be distributed among as many as five winners, though this will depend on the proposals. Following the end of the campaign, Siemens is open to continuing a partnership towards further development and implementation.
