Visiting the University

You are welcome to schedule a visit to one or more Penn State locations for a career event or recruiting activities.

University Park

The University Park campus is Penn State’s largest, located in State College, PA.  With an engineering student population of more than 10,000, it’s a great place to recruit the next generation of employees!  Here are some things to know about visiting the University Park campus.

Our Office Location

The Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations office is located in 117 Hammond Building.  Please note that most University buildings do not have street addresses.  The building is approximately two blocks long and is located along West College Avenue between South Allen and South Burrowes Streets.

The closest entrance to our office is at the intersection of South Fraser Street and West College Ave.  Follow the staircase up under the building and turn right at the top of the stairs.  Walk along the catwalk to the door on your right.  Once inside, go up a half-flight of stairs and through the double doors; turn right and walk a short distance.  Our office is on the left.

Parking

Most visitor parking, either on-campus or in downtown State College, is in metered lots or parking structures.  Most University buildings do not have co-located visitor parking available, so you will likely have to park some distance away and walk to your meeting or event destination.  Please dress appropriately for the weather, if inclement.

If your meeting is in our office, the closest parking facility is the structure at 135 South Fraser Street, State College, PA, 16801.  From this location, it is approximately one block to Hammond Building; walk north on South Fraser Street toward College Ave.  Unfortunately, we are unable to validate visitor parking.

See the Downtown State College website for more information about other downtown parking locations.

For on-campus parking locations, see the Penn State Transportation Services Visitor Parking website.

Campus Maps

The University Park campus is very large.  It could take you close to an hour to walk from one end of campus to the other!  Both printable and online campus maps are available to help you find your way around during your visit.

Other Penn State Campuses

If you are planning a visit to one of Penn State’s other campuses to recruit engineering students, please contact the relevant career services office at that campus for information to plan your trip.
