Posting Jobs

Nittany Lion Careers is Penn State’s free job posting platform for internship, co-op, and full-time job opportunities across all majors and campuses. Career staff review and approve all postings before students can view them. Employers can also use Nittany Lion Careers to schedule on-campus interviews.

To be eligible to use Nittany Lion Careers, employers must have:

  • A functioning organizational website
  • A verifiable business address
  • A recruiter email address that matches the organization’s domain

Create Your Account

  • Go to the Nittany Lion Careers login page and select Employers
  • Choose Sign Up (if you just want to create your profile) or Sign Up and Post Job (if you have positions ready to post)
  • Complete and submit the registration form
  • Wait for approval, usually within 1–2 business days

Once approved, you will receive an email verification message, which will include a unique password that will allow you to log in to the system. Upon your initial login, you will have the option to change the password to something that is easier for you to remember via the My Account tab. You will post jobs under the Jobs tab.

Job Posting Requirements

Each posting should include:

  • A clear description of the position
  • Job location, including city and state (and country, if outside the U.S.) for on-site roles
  • Eligible majors
  • Citizenship requirements, if any
  • Housing information, if relevant

Internship and co-op postings must also include information about the timeframe for the positions. In general, internship and co-op participants must work 20–40 hours per week at their job locations for 12–15 weeks in either the fall or spring semesters or 10–12 weeks in the summer. If you are offering very short-term positions (less than 10 weeks in duration or fewer than 20 hours per week), this information should be clear in the postings.

Recommended Learning Components for Internships & Co-ops

To support students’ engineering education, these roles should provide opportunities to:

  • Design or analyze products, materials, systems, or processes
  • Conduct testing and use data for decision-making
  • Take on increasing responsibility during the course of the experience
  • Work effectively on multidisciplinary or multicultural teams
  • Strengthen written and oral communication skills

If you have questions about posting jobs, contact the office.
