Penn State StartUp Week: Data & Engineering IDEAS Challenge
As part of StartUp Week, Penn State and Cubic Corporation present the Data & Engineering Challenge. During this challenge, student teams will have the opportunity to work on problems currently under development at Cubic Corporation, a billion-dollar technology-based company that provides services to transportation and defense markets worldwide. Cubic representatives, including Jim Stiefelmaier, Cubic’s Creative Director of Innovation, will be on hand throughout the challenge to assist teams and guide solutions.
During the Data & Engineering Challenge, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work side-by-side with and learn from professionals from Cubic
- Broaden your network
- Work alongside an interdisciplinary team of students to develop a new and innovative solution for a real-world problem.
- Leave with a great experience that will make you more attractive to potential employers
Prizes for this challenge include:
- Best Overall: $1,500/team
- Best Visualization: $500/team
- Most Creative Solution: $500/team
- Best Insights: $500/team
- Best Presentation: $500/team
All engineering majors are welcome, although this challenge may be of particular interest to ME, EE, and CMPSC majors. The Data & Engineering Challenge will run March 26–29. Learn more and register by March 25 at the website.
