The following information is for employers who plan to interview students at the Penn Stater the day after the Engineering Career Fair. If you have any questions or concerns about interviewing, or if you wish to return to campus to interview at a later date, please contact the Recruiting Manager.
Preparation for interviews should begin during the Fair:
- Use an interview schedule to keep track of students you invite to interview and to record their interview times. Note that interviews may begin no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and must be completed by 5:00 p.m.
- Be sure to include your company/organization name on the interview schedule and to take the schedule with you to the interviews.
- Instruct students to report to the Student Check-In at least 15 minutes before their scheduled interview time. Student Check-In will be in the same location for all Engineering Career Week events.
Check-In
- Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your first scheduled interview.
- Follow the signs to Interview Check-In (near check-in location for the Fair on the previous day).
- Volunteers will make a copy of your interview schedule at the check-in area and then will escort you to your interview location.
There will be waiting areas designated outside of each interview space. As students arrive for their interviews, our staff will direct them to the appropriate waiting area.
When you are ready to meet with a student, go to the waiting area and call his or her name. If the student is not present at the designated time, check to see if he or she has arrived at the main check-in area.
Meals and Refreshments
Please remember to build breaks into your interview schedule for meals and refreshments! Coffee, tea, and water will be available throughout the day; however, you should plan to purchase your meals. The Penn Stater offers two onsite dining options.
