Cancellation Policy

Employers who cancel prior to October 15 will receive a 75 percent refund. Any cancellation after this date is non-refundable. Please note that we are unable to provide refunds for this event for registrants who choose not to attend and do not notify our office prior to the cancellation deadline.

We are also unable to provide refunds for registrants who are unable to attend at the last minute due to circumstances including inclement weather.  Since rain, snow, and sleet are always possible in central Pennsylvania at this time of year, check the travel conditions and use your best judgment when deciding whether or not to make the trip to State College.

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any event due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In this situation, the University will refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for participants' other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Travel and Parking Information

By Car

If you are traveling by car, follow these directions from your general location to The Nittany Lion Inn (where most employers stay and where most Engineering Career Week events are held), located at 200 West Park Ave., State College, PA, 16803.

Employers should park in the Nittany Parking Deck (on Fischer Road) for this event. The front desk staff at the Inn can validate parking vouchers at the time of departure.

From Baltimore, MD

Take I-95 North or the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to west loop I-695 to I-83 North. Continue on I-83 North into Pennsylvania. Once in the Harrisburg area, follow signs for I-81 South/US-322 West. Merge onto I-81 South for only 1.9 miles. Then follow signs for Route 322 West to State College and exit at the Penn State University/Innovation Park exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and proceed onto Park Avenue towards campus, and away from Innovation Park. Once you are on Park Avenue, proceed until you reach the intersection with Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street, which is an entrance to the University Park campus.  Make a quick right onto Fischer Road.

From Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia

Take I-495 North to I-270 North to I-70 West. In Breezewood, merge onto I-76 Pennsylvania Turnpike towards Pittsburgh. Take exit 146, US-220/I-99 toward Bedford Altoona/Johnstown. Take I-99 North/US-220 North then Route 322 East (Bald Eagle). Follow Route 322 East to State College. From Route 322, take the Penn State University/Innovation Park exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and proceed onto Park Avenue towards campus, and away from Innovation Park. Once you are on Park Avenue, proceed until you reach the intersection with Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street, which is an entrance to the University Park campus.  Make a quick right onto Fischer Road.

From Northern New Jersey

Take I-80 West in PA to Exit 161 (Bellefonte). Follow PA 26 South to US 220 South. Take exit 74 for Innovation Park/Penn State University. Once you are on Park Avenue, proceed until you reach the intersection with Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street, which is an entrance to the University Park campus.  Make a quick right onto Fischer Road.

From Philadelphia

Take the Schuylkill Expressway to the PA Turnpike. Leave the Turnpike at exit 247 (Harrisburg East-formerly exit 19). Follow I-283 north to I-83. Proceed north on I-83 to the I-81 interchange. Follow I-81 south to Route 322/22 west. Proceed west on Route 322 to State College, and exit at the Penn State University/Innovation Park exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and proceed onto Park Avenue towards campus, and away from Innovation Park. Once you are on Park Avenue, proceed until you reach the intersection with Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street, which is an entrance to the University Park campus.  Make a quick right onto Fischer Road.

From Western Pennsylvania and Ohio

Take I-80 East to exit 161 (formerly exit 24). Take Route 26 south. Follow Route 26 south to US 220 South. From Route 220, take the Penn State University/Innovation Park exit 74. Once you are on Park Avenue, proceed until you reach the intersection with Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street, which is an entrance to the University Park campus.  Make a quick right onto Fischer Road.

From Pittsburgh

Take Route 22 East to I-99 north (Altoona). Take I-99 to Route 220, then Route 322 East (Bald Eagle). Follow Route 322 East to State College. From Route 322, take the Penn State University/Innovation Park exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and proceed onto Park Avenue towards campus, and away from Innovation Park. Once you are on Park Avenue, proceed until you reach the intersection with Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street, which is an entrance to the University Park campus.  Make a quick right onto Fischer Road.

By Air

If you are traveling by air, note that you can fly directly into State College via connections from three major airports.  The University Park Airport (SCE), located about five miles from campus, offers daily flights on Delta Airlines (from Detroit, MI), United Airlines (from Dulles Airport in Washington, DC), and U.S. Airways (from Philadelphia, PA).  Both rental cars and taxis are available from the airport to campus.

Hotel Accommodations

A block of rooms at The Nittany Lion Inn has been reserved for employers at a special rate of $118.00 (single occupancy, plus tax, per night) and is guaranteed through December 18, 2017. For the sake of convenience, we encourage employers to stay at the Inn if possible.

Reserve a room either on the hotel website or by contacting the Reservations Department at 1-800-233-7505; provide group reservation code FAIR18A. A credit card number will be required to guarantee any reservation. Employers who are unable to commit to reserving a room prior to the guarantee deadline should check with the Reservations Department regarding the continued availability of reduced-rate rooms after the deadline.

Alternative accommodations in the State College area are available via the Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau website.
